Shimane Prefecture has a variant and simplified flag of red field with white emblem while the official flag has yellow
emblem.

The city emblem was adopted on Mar 31st 2005 by the Prefecture Notice No 6 but no flag law.
The white flag is charged with blue city emblem in the center.
The flag proportions are 2:3.
The city emblem represents 松= a pine needle inside and a turtleshell outside in the connection with
old castle of Mt. Kameda (turtle) in the city.
